Top energy partners exit Hogan Lovells for Orrick

The global co-heads of the Energy & Natural Resources Group and the Renewable Energy Group are transferring to Orrick where they will be partners in the London office.

Orrick picks up energy partners in London David Burrows

Matthew Williams,  Global Co-Head of the Energy & Natural Resources Group at Hogans, is to become co-head of the Orrick Europe Energy Group. Colleague John Deacon, formerly Global Co-Head of the Renewable Energy Group, is also moving over as is a third energy partner, Edward Humphries. In 2014, Orrick recruited another energy partner from Hogan Lovells, Colin Graham. 

Three sector strategy

Douglas Lahnborg, London office leader for Orrick, said: 'This move reflects our continuing focus on developing our London office as a hub for domestic and cross-border investment in the energy, finance and tech sectors.' Orrick has decided to focus on these three sectors in its strategy of strengthening the firm in Europe.
