Top firms dominate the Supreme Court bar

Big business has better access to the Supreme Court than consumers with around 12 top US law firms dominating the field.

Lawyers at a dozen top firms representing big business are the most successful in getting their cases before the Supreme Court, an investigation by Reuters has revealed. The agency examined around 10,300 court records filed over a nine-year period and found that the firms, including Gibson Dunn, Sidley Austin and Jones Day, were more sucessful than others and were involved in a third of the cases accepted by the court.
