Travers and Mayer Brown rise up pay tables for junior London lawyers

City of London-based law firm Travers Smith is hiking pay for the most junior lawyers by nearly 9% - believed to be the biggest rise at this level in leading London firms - and is followed by Mayer Brown which is putting them up by nearly 8%.

Third in line, according to Legal Cheek, is Dentons which is putting up pay packets by 7%. However, Allen & Overy remains the top UK-based payer of newly-qualifieds, offering £78,500. It still comes a long way behind the top payer in London, US law firm Sullivan & Cromwell which is paying £101,500.
