Two thirds of legal teams lack info security staff

Some 71 per cent of US law firms and legal teams do not have staff 'dedicated exclusively to information security', according to a new report.

The ‘2014 Study of the Legal Industry’s Information Security Assessment Practices’ estimates that the threats ranked as the most concerning by law firms and legal departments include ‘phishing/vishing, employee negligence and virus, worm & malware’.  The majority of respondents to the survey on which the research is based - over 62 per cent - ‘do not have a vendor management evaluation process in place’.  Source: Business Wire
