The Legal Market Update survey was carried out by Lawyers Weekly in conjunction with the Australasian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA). Readers of the magazine were asked to name their biggest frustrations.

Something for nothing

Changing client expectations were nominated by a 'significant portion' of respondents. One reader highlighted 'excessive, unrealistic demands' and another spoke of 'clients increasingly expect something for nothing'. A third spoke of clients wanting to dictate fee levels but without getting a proper understanding of the level of resources needed to carry out the work involved. Source: Lawyers Weekly
