Winston & Strawn has hired 10 partners away from McDermott Will & Emery, including seven in Chicago with all joining the firm's employee benefits and executive compensation practice. Chicago-based Nancy Gerrie will co-chair the practice with Scott Landau in Washington, DC. ‘This group complements and strengthens our already strong EBEC Practice,’ chairman Tom Fitzgerald said. ‘We are excited to welcome and integrate this prestigious group of practitioners to the firm which underscores our commitment to strategic growth in key practice areas and markets,’ added Mr Fitzgerald.

Attracting competitor partners en masse

The Global Legal Post recently reported the move from Winstons. It also revealed Winston & Strawn opened a 26-lawyer office in Dallas after recruiting partners from nine different firms.
