Mr Robinson was a key player in BMG’s acquisition of Broken Bow Records, Vagrant, Rise and S-Curve Records and was recently named one of Billboard Magazine’s 2016 Digital Power Players - in no small part to his involvement with BMG’s legal case against internet service provider Cox Communications. In that example, Mr Robinson led the legal team that won the precedent-setting case, resulting in a $25 million jury verdict.

Coming home’

Mr Robinson sais that the move meant that he felt like he was coming home after coming up through the industry alongside many of the senior executives at 300 and having worked closely with co- founders Kevin Liles, Lyor Cohen, Todd Moscowitz]and Roger Gold while at Warner Music Group: ‘300 is a company that is on the cutting edge, that is adept at breaking new artists and is at the forefront of what is happening in the digital world – a true modern day entertainment company…This move feels like I’m coming home to family.’ Prior to BMG, Robinson held head positions at Warner Music Group including running the legal department for Asylum Records and the Independent Label Group, EOne (formerly Koch) and Walter Yetnikoff’s Velvel Music Group.

‘Best in the business’

300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles said: ‘As we continue to create the next great American record label, we keep in mind that you are only as good as your people. We are proud to bring aboard Mark Robinson as Head of Business and Legal Affairs. He is an exemplary colleague and partner and is the best in the business. Welcome home, Mark.’
