Magazine publisher Time Inc has promoted former deputy general counsel Lauren Ezrol Klein to the helm of its legal department following a major corporate reorganisation at the company. Ms Klein has worked with the company for 20 years and played a major role in its high-profile spin-off from Time Warner in 2014. She replaces outgoing general counsel Lon Jacobs who is departing the company in September.

Meanwhile, Marla Zwas was recently named general counsel at Truck Hero, a Michigan-based pickup truck aftermarket accessories company. Ms Zwas joined Truck Hero in June from Flagstar Bancorp, where she held the role of deputy general counsel and senior vice president. Previously, she served as senior counsel for Chrysler Group and as general counsel Toyoda Gosei North America Corporation.

Fellow Michigan-based company Meritor has appointed April Miller Boise as senior vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Ms Boise departs her position as general counsel and head of global mergers and acquisitions at Avintiv to take up her new role. Before moving in-house, Ms Boise was managing partner at Thomas Hine in Cleveland and a corporate attorney at several firms including Cleary, Gotleib, Stein & Hamilton.

Data business Datalogic has scooped up former Denso European general counsel Raffaele Zucca as its own new global general counsel. Mr Zucca joined Datalogic in July after nine years with automotive tech company Denso and is now heading a 25-strong team across legal, IP, governance and compliance. He has replaced former Datalogic GC Frederica Lolli, who left the company late last year. Meanwhile, Mr Zucca has been succeeded at Denso by Takaya Suzuki.

Finally, communications technology contractor L-3 Communications has hired US defence industry legal veteran Ann Davidson as its new general counsel. A former Navy lawyer, Ms Davidson has extensive experience managing transactional, governance and contract matters for global defence companies, having most recently served as GC at defence contractor Exelis Inc and previously holding in-house roles with ITT Corp, Alliant Techsystems and Thales North America. She replaces incumbent L-3 GC Steven Post, who is retiring from the company.
