General counsel at the Carphone Warehouse will share duties Dutourdumonde Photography

The two general counsel of the newly merged £3.75 billion Dixons Carphone have agreed to share the legal and secretarial role though the integration of the two companies. Dixons general counsel Helen Grantham will work alongside Carphone Warehouse's head of legal Tim Morris in the new company Dixons Carphone

US company AMAG Pharmaceuticals has appointed Robert Blood as vice president of legal affairs and chief compliance officer. Mr Blood leaves EMD Serona where he was associate general counsel. His new role will give him responsibility for providing internal legal advice on AMAG's commercial operations and research activities and overseeing AMAF's healthcare compliance programme. Scott Townsend, senior vice president of legal affairs, general counsel and secretary at AMAg said of the appointment: ' Robert's deep experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry and his knowledge and experience with the federal and state laws that govern the marketing an dpromotion of our products will be extremely valuable as we work to grow our existing product portflio and build a divesified, multi-product pharmaceutical company that puts patients first.'

New York based SterlingRisk, a national insurance brokerage, has appointed Jillian Menna as its general counsel, Ms Menna joines the company from Quik Park where she was general counsel/risk manager. She is currently acting President-Elect for the New York City Association of Insurance Women.

Square Two Financial, a leader in the $100 billion asset management and recovery industry has promoted Alan Singer to senior vice president and general counsel. Mr Singer, who joined the company in 2001, will oversee the company's legal matters.

Lloyd's chief risk officer and general counsel Sean McGovern has been reappointed otthe board of the US Federal Advisory Committee on INsurance (FACI). The FACI, which is comprised of state regulators, senior insurance executives, academics and customer advocates,  was set up in 2011 to advice the US Treasury on Insurance policy and is chaired by Daniel Glaser, president and chief executive of Marsh & McLennan Companies. The FACI provides advice and recommendations to assist the Federal Insurance Office in carrying out its statutory authority.
