British Land has appointed Brona McKeown as its general counsel and company secretary. She replaces Elaine Williams who moved to UK logistics company Eddie Stobart in November 2017. Ms McKeown left the Co-op Bank in October last year, having joined in 2013 as its first legal head. David Bagley, previously Co-op’s regulatory risk director, was promoted to the role. Before joining the Co-op, Ms McKeown had acted as GC and company secretary for Coventry Building Society for less than a year. She also held a number of roles roles at Barclays Bank, becoming general counsel for corporate at Barclays Bank in 2010. She also worked at CMS Cameron McKenna in 1992 in the firm’s banking and international finance department. 

Nutraceutical company ChromaDex Corp has appointed Mark Friedman as general counsel and corporate secretary. Mr Friedman is joining ChromaDex from Herbalife Nutrition where he was executive vice president and general counsel and counsel to the executive chairman since 2013. Prior to that he acted as general counsel, senior vice president, business development at pinkberry, general counsel at American Golf Corporation and associate corporate secretary for Atlantic Richfield Company and BP.

Trademark and domain solutions leader Corsearch has appointed Diane Plaut as global general counsel and head of HR, reporting to president and CEO Tobias Hartmann. A long-time Corsearch advisory board member, client and collaborator, Ms Plaut brings to Corsearch over 25 years of experience in global intellectual property law, IP portfolio management, brand protection and enforcement, corporate law, privacy, and compliance. Ms. Plaut’s arrival comes as Corsearch begins a new chapter as an independent company, following its acquisition by Audax Private Equity earlier this month. Prior to joining Corsearch, Ms Plaut held senior counsel roles at Diageo North America, Honeywell, Johnson & Johnson, CBS Broadcasting, Fross, Zelnick, Lehrman & Zissu and, most recently, Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. 

American Midstream Partners has apppointed Christopher Dial as general counsel. Mr Dial brings substantial knowledge in partnership formation, complex financings, corporate and capital market transactions. Mr Dial is the former general counsel of Susser Holding II, LP. Prior to joining Susser, Mr Dial was associate general counsel of Susser Holdings Corporation and Sunoco, LP. He started out as a lawyer at Andrews Kurth, LLP where he primarily represented energy clients on a variety of general corporate and securities matters. 

The group general counsel of MS Amlin is set to move on from the company. Bob Robinson will leave the business later this year. Mr Robinson joined Amlin as general counsel in 2007.
