Car manufacturer Nissan is promoting a number of people in its legal department. Todd Woods will become senior director and deputy general counsel, North America. He will have primary responsiblity for all legal matters in America and will report to Andrew Tavi, vice president, Legal, Government Affairs and Human Resources as well as General Counsel for Nissan in North and Latin America. Mr Woods was previously assistant general counsel, Meanwhile Jason Menges, who is currently senior counsel, is promoted to director and assistant general counsel - Litigaiton. He will report to Mr Woods. Dave Kimball, who is assistant general counsel - Corporate and Transactions, will be given extra responsiblities as deputy general counsel, Latin America. He will remian in Tennessee and willreport to Mr Tavi and Jose Luis Valls, senior vice president and chairman of Nissan's Latin America region. 

Professional services firm Sikich has appointed former Baker & McKenzie partner Sarah Harris as general counsel. Ms Harris, who will manage all regulatory matters for the firm, is an expert in mergers and acquistions, private equity fund formation and regulation as well as general corporate and securities transactions. She will be at the helm of Sikich focusing on risk assessment as the company looks at acquiring other businesses. 

Global rights agency Merlin has recruited Ryan McWhinnie as director, legal & business affairs. Mr McWhinnie, who will report to Charlie Lexton, head of business affairs and general counsel, joins from London entertainment law firm Harbottle & Lewis.

CISAC, the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers, has promoted its general counsel Gadi Oron to director general. Mr Oron joined CISAC in 2012 from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (FPI) where he was deputy director.
