The auto manufacturer admitted that it failed to disclose to regulators on a timely basis the 'lethal safety defect' American Spirit

General Motors has appointed Craig Glidden as its new general counsel. Mr Glidden will lead a team of lawyers across more than 30 countries. He succeeds Michael Millikin who is retiring in July. Mr Millikin, who recently came under fire over faulty valves, served five years as GM general counsel. Before joining GM, Glidden was executive VP and chief legal officer for LyondellBasell Industries (LYB).

The former head of legal at Deutsche Bank, Atulya Sharma, has taken up a position as global general counsel and company secretary at Apollo Tyres. Mr Sharma, who left Deutsche Bank in December after five years at the bank, will report to company vice chair and managing director Neeraj Kanwar. He had earlier worked at Dua Associate.

Online real estate marketplace Auction.com has recruited Lee Leslie as executive vice president and chief legal officer. It follows Mr Leslie's stint as company’s interim general counsel for four months. He was recruited from Auction.com subsidiary HouseTech Real Estate. Previously he was chief legal officer at LendingTree Loans and LowerMyBills.com.

Global wireless broadband solutions company Cambium Networks has appointed Sally Rau as general counsel.  In her new position, Rau brings 30 years of experience in advising global companies as a law firm partner and in-house counsel on matters ranging from corporate compliance and governance to cross-border mergers. Prior to joining Cambium Networks, she was chief administrative officer, general counsel and corporate secretary for Velti, a mobile marketing and advertising company with operations in the US,  Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East. She was also a partner at DLA Piper for ten years where she represented a range of public and private technology companies. Earlier in her career, Rau spent six years in London as general counsel for Cronos Containers Limited, an international container leasing company.

Mobile games network Scopely has recruited Roy Rosenthal as general counsel and head of business affairs. He joins from Zynga where he was senior counsel and senior director of business affairs.
