Italian spirits company Gruppo Campari has appointed Fabio Di Fede as its new general counsel. He will replace Stefano Saccardi who is retiring from the position. Mr Di Fede, who previously worked for Campari, joins from Société des Produits Marnier Lapostolle. Mr Saccardi served the company for over 30 years and general counsel for 18 years and will remain on the company’s board until his mandate ends in 2019.

Regional aircraft lessor TrueNoord has appointed Joram Lietaert Peerbolte as its general counsel. His primary responsibilities will be to manage the delivery of in-house legal advice and liaise with all global legal advisers as well as provide guidance and support to the company in the execution and administration of aircraft acquisitions and sales, aircraft operating leases and associated finance transactions. Prior to joining the TrueNoord team he worked in the London, Paris and New York offices of Sullivan & Cromwell. Anne-Bart Tieleman, CEO of TrueNoord, comments: 'I am delighted to welcome Joram to the team, where his depth of transactional experience in the field will strengthen our business acumen as we develop our portfolio of aircraft and support operators across complex global jurisdictions. Joram will be a cornerstone of the TrueNoord management team as we expand within the regional aircraft leasing sector.

The TSB bank has recruited former GE Capital Bank general counsel and company secretary Lorna Curry as its general counsel. The announcement follows Susan Crichton's decision to retire at the end of January 2018. Ms Curry will report in to chief financial officer Ralph Coates.

Underwriting syndicate Probitas 1492 has appointed Lindsay McQuillian as its general counsel. Ms McQuillian joins from Mayer Brown’s insurance and reinsurance practice where she has been partner since 2008. She will lead Probitas’s financial lines claims proposition when she joins in January 2018. She has more than 18 years of experience in the insurance market, particularly in professional indemnity, financial institutions, and general liability. Headquartered in London, the Lloyd’s syndicate specialises in property, construction, and casualty insurance and reinsurance solutions. 

Otter Tail Corporation has promoted Jennifer Smestad as its general counsel and corporate secretary. For the past 17 years, she has served in roles of increasing responsibility for the corporation's manufacturing and electric utility platforms, latterly as general counsel of Otter Tail Power Company. She will be responsible for the legal affairs of the corporation and will retain her role as general counsel at Otter Tail Power Company. She succeeds George Koeck, who is retiring from the company. She previously served as an army officer in the Medical Service Corps and as Judge Advocate General, attaining the rank of Major. Prior to joining Otter Tail Corporation, she worked as an associate and partner with the Pemberton Law firm.
