The Seattle Seahawks have announced that Ed Goines will be its new general counsel and vice president. Mat Hayward

Ed Goines has been chosen as the Seattle Seahawk's new general counsel and vice president. He will administer the corporate legal affairs for the NFL team, and will be responsible for managing the organisation's government relations strategy and policies. Mr Goines has previously worked as assistant chief counsel for Disney Interactive/The Walt Disney Company. He also worked for five seasons as general counsel and vice president of business affairs for the San Franciso 49ers, and also served one year as a legal consultant.

David Blass, chief counsel and associate director of the Securities and Exchange Commission's Division of Trading and Markets, will be the Investment Company Institute's new general counsel in September. Mr Blass will report to ICI President and CEO Paul Schott Steves, and will assume the role of chief legal officer. He has served at the SEC twice from 2003 to 2010. From 2003 to 2008, he served in the divisions of Trading Markets and Investment Management, and since 2010, as associate general counsel and then chief counsel in Trading markets. He was also special counsel to the asset management group at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP from 2008 to 2010, and he began his legal career at Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Pegasystems has appointed Anne Warner as general counsel and chief compliance office. She has more than 20 year s of experience as in-house counsel, and she has previously served as executive director and international counsel at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. Ms Warner has also served as senior counsel, M&A for Inverness Medical.

Esquire Deposition Solutions has named Avi Stadler as general counsel. The company is the leading provider of court reporting, videography, translation and conferencing services in the United States, and Mr Stadler joins the company in Atlanta. He has previously been a member of the firm litigation department at Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP, and prior to that he was Director of Professional Development at McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP.

Olivier Bourges has taken the job as Group General Counsel with PSA Peugeot Citreon in Paris. He replaces Pierre Todorov who is leaving the group. Mr Bourges will take over the Group GC's responsibilities, which includes legal affairs, institutional relations property, internal audit and control and risk management. He will report to Carlos Taveres, Chairman of the Managing Board, and will be a member of the Executive Committee. He will also serve as Secretary of the Supervisory Board. He joins from the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance and previously worked at Renault where he was Corporate Controller.
