Instead general counsel are looking to integrate themselves in business and proactively influence issues before they turn legal, according to new research from BTI Consulting Group. BTI President Michael Rynowecer told Law360 that there were a number of examples of how the new ‘embedded’ in-house lawyers were creating value.

Examples of this include involvement in the company's business processes earlier, looking for ways to streamline, moving products to market faster or creating more efficient legal work flow, according to Mr Rynowecer.
BTI Consulting Group interviewed 300 general counsel from Fortune 1000 companies.
