Corporate counsel prepare for Brexit

Corporate counsel are bracing themselves for increased workloads as Brexit looms.

Brexit: Increased corporate workload Daniele Carabini

Two in three law departments are expecting a heavier workload as they prepare for Brexit, according to research for the GC Futures Summit 2016. A number of companies have set up Brexit teams as the exit of Britain from the European Union looks set to create a myriad of legal issues from basic contracts to insurance issues. With little insight from the British Government on how it will work, companies are having to prepare for a wide range of risks. The challenges will be discussed at the GC Futures Summit on a panel facilitated by LSEW's GC, Janice More, previously European GC and Company Secretary of HJ Heinz.  She will be joined by Noreen Doyle, Chair, Credit Suisse International and Chair of the British Banking Association and Liz Walker, GC, Global Services BT.
