Dubai: David Haigh has been held in prison for over a year Elnur

The former general counsel of CFH Capital, David Haigh’s private prosecution against ex-Gibson Dunn partner Peter Gray was dismissed last week after Mr Haigh withdrew an application for summons. Mr Haigh, who has been in prison in Dubai since May 2014,  in relation to the GHF's ownership and sale of Leeds United Football Club,  alleged that Mr Gray and two of his former employers lured him to Dubai, arranging his visa and paying his air ticket. However, Mr Haigh withdrew the application for summons after ‘matters were reported to law enforcement authorities’ and the case was dismissed. The former general counsel has been accused by GFH of falsifying £3m of invoices and of committing fraud, embezzlement and money laundering. He has not been charged and denies the allegations, saying he can prove his innocence.
