Facebook GC highlights difficulties faced by the social networking site

Facebook has revealed that UK law enforcement agencies made more 1,900 requests for data within a six month period.

1000 Words

The requests involved over 2,200 different accounts for user data relating to criminal cases. Facebook says that  70 per cent saw some of the data used. Commenting on the difficulties, Colin Stretch, Facebook’s general counsel, pointed out  that the company's mission was to 'give people the power to share, and to make the world more open and connected. Sometimes, the laws of a country interfere with that mission, by limiting what can be shared there.' Source: itv
