GCs call on law firms to improve technology

General counsel are calling on their external advisers to up their technology skills and provide more business information.

Corporate counsel are calling on law firms to deploy greater use of artificial and machine learning to increase efficiencies in the latest GC Excellence survey. The research, which will be available at the GC Futures Summit, found that in the 37 per cent of respondents also wanted to see greater use of technology across the board including better management information. The report benchmarks law departments and gives insights into current general counsel thinking on a range of subjects. Jonathan Smith, general counse of AWE, said the aim for law firms working with general counsel should be to make each other look good.

The annual event will discuss themes from the report including technology, innovation and disruption as well as how general counsel can contribute to company values led by Enrique Aznar of Vimpelcom.
