General counsel set to change corporate agendas

A snap poll has revealed that general counsel believe they have a greater role to play in company ethics following the VW debacle, one of the many subjects to be discussed at next month's GC Futures Summit.

Sfio Cracho

Over 80 per cent of those questioned for the survey revealed that the GC's role as an ethical leader was stronger than ever in a more risky and compliance-driven era. The GC Futures Summit will look at the shape of legal departments, how they are adapting and the key challenges ahead. From KPIs to board dynamics, creating value and innovation, general counsel will exchange experiences and discuss the unthinkable - will legal departments exist in 2030?

Managing external lawyers

New research from KPMG will be released at the event, giving a global view of tomorrow's general counsel. Keith Austin from DHL will discuss how a global company manages its external lawyers, while Daniel Desjardins of Bombardier will discuss leadership and power.
