Inhouse recruitment has seen more competition for inhouse jobs and a greater number of bonus payments, according to recruitment consultants Lawrence Simons. A survey carried out by the company revealed that the median base salaries for corporate counsel who received their law degree four to seven years ago ranged from $130,000 to $170,000; those who got their degrees 10 to 11 years ago made $150,000 to $225,000; and those who have had degrees for 15 years or more made from $150,000 to more than $400,000. Meanwhile 63 percent of respondents said they had received a bonus with 18 per cent getting a bonus of between 10 and 19 percent of their base salary.
