The UK is lagging behind the US when it comes to installing lawyers on boards with just 10 on FTSE 100 boards compared with 51 on the Fortune 100 and is unlikely to change, according to an article in Forbes magazine. It claims the UK has become averse to having lawyers on boards with conflict of interest cited as one reason and lack of support from CEOs as another. Meanwhile, the US has become more proactive with headhunters looking for extra legal expertise in the boardroom.Source: Forbes
