Baker & McKenzie makes up 85 worldwide

Baker & McKenzie has made up 85 lawyers in this year's global round, with a focus on building its M&A, disputes and tax offering.

The firm has promoted six in the City: corporate M&A lawyer David Scott, disputes pair Francesca Richmond and Kate Corby, employment lawyer Julia Wilson, anti-trust and competition specialist Tristan Grimmer, and tax associate Alistair Craig.

M&A most represented

The new intake of partners included 19 within M&A, 16 in disputes, 15 in tax, 11 in banking and finance, six in employment and the same in IP. Of the total promotions, 40 per cent (34) are female.

Asia-Pacific

Regionally, 43 per cent of the promotions were in the Asia-Pacific Region, 19 per cent in Europe, Middle East and Africa, 8 per cent in Latin America and 30 per cent in North America.

The latest promotions bring the total number of partners worldwide to 1,580, of which over 400 of are women.
