A former judge in the province of Zhejiang, Jinhua Zhong is now in the US and unsure what to do next. He said in an interview: 'The majority of lawyers are now living in fear of forced 'chats' with authorities, since they have detained between 200 and 300 lawyers. Such a thing is unprecedented.'

Not just sensitive cases

A crackdown has been in place since July. Mr Zhong said that it is not just lawyers in sensitive human rights cases who are affected, but all lawyers. Friends have warned him that he could be arrested if he returns to the People's Republic. Source: Radio Free Asia
