Denton partner profits rise driven by Middle East and banking

Profits per equity partner rose in the world's largest firm to £502,000 per head in UKMEA - driven by double-digit growth in the Middle East and UK strengths in banking, media, IT and real estate in 2014/15.

Revenue rises in the zone averaged six per cent - taking the firm to an income of £155m. There is some lack of clarity over the firm's overall global results - as the practice has not given its statistics to The American Lawyer. The US Dentons firm is in the process of merging with McKenna Long & Aldridge. 

Chinese lawyer numbers

A merger in January this year with Dachung in China initially appeared to push lawyer numbers up to 6,500 - but recalculations were done after the firm decided that 'several hundred' Chinese lawyers would only be included in the total when they had qualified by achieving 'final certification', in the words of the firm in April.
