DLA chases Bakers for top brand title

Baker & McKenzie has come first in this year's Global Elite Brand Index for lawyers but is being hard chased by other firms.

Compilers of the list, Acritas, is warning that the US-based law firm will have to work hard to stay ahead of a group of 'rapid risers'. These include DLA Piper, King & Wood Mallesons and K&L Gates. 'Baker & McKenzie has this year, for the first time, dropped back slightly in terms of numbers,' said Sarah Chisman-Duffy, head of Acritas Asia-Pacific, as quoted in Lawyers Weekly. She continued: 'Challenger firms could knock out the top firms ...  it is entirely feasible that the market will continue to reshape.'
