DLA denies Australia problems

As DLA Piper numbers in Melbourne have fallen from 43 to 24 in the last two years, DLA managing partner Andrew Darwin says he is not 'embarrassed' by the departures.

He told Lawyers Weekly: ‘I am not embarrassed or ashamed or concerned about people leaving…We want people who want to be here. We are not cutting to a target or growing to a target [partner numbers], we want to make sure we have a proper critical mass in each of our practice groups.’

Acceleration

In the last year, the departure rate has accelerated, with partner numbers falling from 37 to 24. The latest two are Steven Caspar and Richard Moshinsky who announced this week that they are joining boutique firm SBA Law. Source: Lawyers Weekly
