The eDiscovery business Consilio is to take over its far larger competitor on 31 December, as part of a series of purchases it has made this year with the aim of establishing itself as a much larger player.

Consilio says that, after the deal, the combined unit will be 'one of the largest global eDiscovery, document review and legal consulting service providers.'

UK and India

Huron Legal offers a range of services to law firms and in-house lawyers, including eDiscovery, document review, information governance and compliance, law department management and legal analytics. It operates in the US and has bases in the UK and India.

Greater scale

Andy Macdonald, Consilio’s chief executive officer, said: 'The acquisition of Huron Legal aligns with our strategy to create greater scale, which enables us to broaden our geographic coverage, enhance our technology offerings and deliver more efficient solutions to our clients.' Source: Consilio
