She takes over from Eric Holder who has taken a tough line against the financial sector. Some of the banks will be able to heave a sigh of relief now that Mr Holder is on his way out. He has extracted record fines from the sector and has pursued Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase and others. He is now believed to be in the process of bringing a case against Morgan Stanley. He had encouraged the prosecution of individuals at erring banks.
