Former Skadden, Arps lawyer disbarred

Matthew Kluger, already serving 12 years in prison for passing on confidential information about business deals, has been disbarred in the District of Columbia.

Mr Kluger passed on information he gathered from working as a trainee and as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and at Skadden, Arps then Fried Frank and Wilson, Sonsoni. His activities continued for 17 years. He pleaded guilty to the criminal charges and was sentenced in January. Disbarring him, the court said that 'the offender knowingly or intentionally disregards the system of law and due process that defines our civilized society'. Source: Legal Times
