Health and employment lawyers advise on ebola

Lawyers are being asked a wide range of questions on the ebola virus, ranging from employment to privacy to avoiding litigation which could come from treating patients.

Health care specialist Sandra DiVarco of McDermott Will & Emergy said that her clients ‘have varying levels of concern and sophistication. Some are asking hard questions, while others are struggling to put all the pieces together.’ 

Not fearful

Jeffrey Gilbreth of Nixon Peabody has been involved in sending a memo to clients on the employment issues. He said: ‘We’re trying to tell them to be practical, not fearful. We’ve seen this with SARS, swine flu, even seasonal flu.’ Source: Bloomberg
