Jones Day earns $11m in Detroit bankruptcy

The city of Detroit has proved a lucrative client for the US law firm.

Detroit paid millions to bankruptcy consultants Ivan Cholakov

Former Jones Day partner Kevyn Orr, now manager of the bankrupt city of Detroit, and his team have paid nearly US$11m to his former law firm up until 1 October.The news will cause controversy as the $11m is twice the amount paid to any other professional adviser to the bankrupt city. Even before this total was released there were some questions raised about the amounts paid to lawyers. Source: News Advocate
