Latham profits per partner rise to US$2.9m as London business soars

Revenue grew five times as fast in 2014/15 at Latham & Watkins - going up by 14.3 per cent and pushing profits per partner up from $2.5m to $2.9m per head.

Meanwhile, the number of people on the payroll rose just two per cent, going up from 2,060 to 2,100. The figures are not broken down by location but global chair Bill Voge said that the London office had been a 'phenomenal success' and a 'hot spot in the firm's global platform'. M&A, capital markets, bank finance, antitrust disputes and white collar litigation were among the busiest areas. Looking forward, Mr Voge said the firm was busy in 2014 but still had capacity in the system. He was expecting a bright 2015 and  'the good news is that we’re a well-tuned machine.'
