Lawyers called to solve balls up dilemma on TV game show

A popular Irish TV National Lottery game show had to be stalled when the ball got stuck between two numbers as one lucky participant got the chance to spin a wheel and win up to half a million euros.

Hosts of the show – Winning Streak - filmed in advance of airing had to step off screen for an hour as legal adjudicators determined whether the trapped ball could be moved without affecting the result.

Technical issue

The broadcaster, RTE, was reported as saying that the‘technical issue…did not have any impact on the outcome of the game and the show broadcast at the normal time.’

The show also ‘takes place under the supervision of independent observers from KPMG,' according to the broadcaster.

Winning Streak is one of the most popular shows in the country.
