Lawyers line up for Comcast-Time Warner deal

If the US Justice Department is the main regulatory reviewer, as seems quite possible, then the role of Bill Baer, now assistant attorney general of its antitrust division, faces conflict of issue questions. In 2011, as an Arnold & Porter partner representing General Electric, he was involved in the sale of NBC Universal to Comcast. However, the Huffington Post says that his disqualification now is 'unlikely', according to 'lawyers with expertise in conflicts of interest'.

Davis Polk & Wardwell, Comcast's longtime specialist adviser on anti-trust, has been reappointed. It is also retaining Wilkie Farr & Gallagher. Time Warner is using Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison as well as Skadden, Arps, Slate,  Meagher & Flom. Source: Huffington Post
