US firm Miller Cranfield Paddock and Stone will receive legal fees in the region of $2 million from the bankrupt City of Detroit. The Michigan firm, which has a long-standing relationship with the city, initially worked on financial restructuring but its contract has been extended to deal with the bankruptcy. The total fee also includes a labour agreement, according to The Am Law Daily, which is capped at $750,000. Jones Day, as lead bankruptcy law firm for Detroit, has a contract worth $3.35 million.
