Legal recruitment markets go into boom in European hotspots

Transactional lawyers are so much in demand in top locations such as Frankfurt and Warsaw that employers are looking to take on foreign lawyers in order to manage their workloads, according to an Australian recruitment specialist.

While Australians find it difficult to work in litigation in continental Europe (because they are trained in common law but would need to work in civil law systems), the transition to working on banking and finance deals is far easier for them to make.

Significant pick-up

Caitlin Bookless, senior consultant at legal recruiters Taylor Root, said: 'All the markets across Europe have picked up significantly over the past year, particularly in the transactional hubs such as Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam and Warsaw.' She also highlighted opportunities in Brussels and Milan. Source: Lawyers Weekly
