However, the fate of the lawyers at the office remained unclear, as Top Legal International magazine reported that the Paris practice will continue in some form and retain its affiliation with Nixon Peabody. The Americans said in a statement that the firm would rely on its ‘association with Paris colleagues, the Terralex network, and other referral relationships’ to continue serving clients in France and Europe.

London only

The statement added: ‘Nixon Peabody is constantly focused on managing our business in the US and internationally to best serve the needs of our clients.’
The US firm’s only European presence is now a London office, which together with Hong Kong and Shanghai make up Nixon Peabody’s only non-US locations.
According to the AmLaw Daily, the firm on Tuesday listed eight full-time partners and seven associates in Paris, as well as three partners cross-listed in other offices.
One of those three is Paris office head Douglas Glucroft, a cross-border transactional specialist who also works out of the firm's New York office.
The firm did not respond to the web site’s questions about when the office would be closing or whether the lawyers would continue working for the firm.
