The number of cases seen by the International Chamber of Commerce court of arbitration in Paris last year was the second highest in the court’s 93-year history, according to figures released by the ICC this week. Meanwhile, multi-party disputes have hit a record high, accounting for around 30 per cent of the total new caseload. Dispute value also cracked a new record in 2015, with the combined value of the 801 disputes brought before the court last year eclipsing $286bn and the average value of disputes up from $63m to $84m. ‘In a fiercely competitive market, the ICC Court continues to enjoy strong growth throughout the world. Our 2015 results show that the ICC Court is increasingly seen as the go-to institution for complex and high-value disputes,’ said ICC Court president Alexis Mourre.
