Pillsbury aims to double London headcount in 10 months

The 16-office international firm has just the one office in Europe but has revealed that it hopes to double the size of the payroll there, raising it from its present level of 13 partners.

The plan is to take on lawyers in financial services, IT, energy and property. Chair Jim Rishwain said: 'We have several approaches that we’re looking at. The strategy as a firm is that we want to have hubs for broader practices. Our strategy is to have a robust English law practice, so we’re starting our growth in London.'

Client demand

He says that client demand is increasing, especially in energy and technology. The firm's international network is focused on the Asia (where it has two offices in China and another in Tokyo). It has the one European office (London) and one in the Middle East (Abu Dhabi).  Source: The Lawyer
