PwC pushes Aussie growth

Professional services giant PwC has boosted its Australian operation with the addition of five new senior partners to its legal services team.

The new hires are made up of four in Melbourne: Tiffany Barton (corporate), Damian McNair (energy, mining, telecoms and transport), Ashley Poke (corporate), Cameron Whittfield (TMT), Damian McNair; together with corporate lawyer James Delesclefs in Sydney.

The hires take the national PwC legal services team to 12 partners and more than 60 lawyers, with core capability across corporate and commercial, employment and workplace relations, projects and infrastructure, and regulatory areas.

The right time

PwC legal Services leader Tony O’Malley commented: ‘We’ve been growing our team for 18 months and we’re building a stronger footprint in Melbourne. The time is certainly right to invest in top tier legal talent to help serve the market’s increasing appetite for end to end solutions.’

Recent hires

The firm has also recently hired directors in key practice areas: Michael O’Neill (M&A); Charlie Grover and Suzanne Matthews (energy, projects & infrastructure); Anne Ellison (real estate); and Samantha James (corporate & commercial).
