Six partners leave K&L Gates for McDermott Will in Dallas
The six partners are being joined by a group of up to nine other lawyers - and will strengthen the three year-old Dallas office of McDermott Will & Emery in M&A, technology and outsourcing.

Wilson Chu, one of the three M&A-specialist partners making the move, said that McDermott is 'not everything to everybody, but where they’re really good, they’re really deep'. The arrival of the new group is expected to bring to 20 the total number of lawyers in the McDermott office. The Dallas Forth Worth region has 18 Fortune 500 companies and 12 of the Forbes' top private companies, according to McDermott Will.
Technology focus
McDermott Will says that the combination of the old and new teams in Dallas will 'add a technology focus to McDermott’s transactional practice that complements its existing strengths in adjoining practices such as Intellectual Property (IP) and Health'. Sources: ABA and McDermott Will & Emery.
