Spain: on the 'phone

Leading Spanish law firm Uría Menéndez has joined with New York's White & Case and Dutch outfit De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek to advise the $1,200 financing of Spanish telecoms company Telefónica.

The potential financiers of the telecoms company are the China Development Bank Corporation (CDB) and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC).
Uría Menéndez fielded a team led by partner Juan Martín Perrotto from the firm’s Beijing office, while partner Rafael García Llaneza and associate David Lopez Pombo contributed from the Madrid office.
White & Case partner Li Xiaoming advised CDB and ICBC together with partner Baldwin Cheng and associate Victoria Yu.
De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek’s team was led by partner Geert Potjewijd in China.
