Historic attitudes favouring globalisation are fundamentally changing....
The Law Societyof England and Wales's technology chair Sam de Silva claimed that cloud storage is less secure than internal servers and could increase the risk of intelligence agencies being able to request access to and spy on confidential information. He advised firms not to switch to Cloud computing systems.
A private circuit
But Mr Orr said it is precisely the industry’s weariness around Cloud services that makes it more secure. He added that there is a belief that all Cloud services are delivered through the open internet, when this is not the case; firms can access Stack Groups’ Cloud via private circuits. Orr said: ‘It would be foolish to claim that our system is invulnerable…But we offer a level of security which is beyond the financial grasp of most firms at a price they can afford.’
