The mass hire will lift Clyde & Co’s office headcount in the United States from six to eight, with four former Troutman Sanders partners to launch a new base in Chicago while six others will head up the firm’s first office in Washington DC. A spokesperson for Clyde & Co has indicated that Troutman associates and other support staff will likely follow the partners, though numbers have not yet been confirmed. The move is the latest step in Clyde & Co’s expansionist strategy in the US, which most recently saw the bolt-on of litigation boutique Thornton Davis Fein in Miami. Since launching in the US just over a decade ago, the firm’s presence has grown to encompass around 50 partners and 200 legal staff.
