Dentons risk consulting managing directors John Davison and Christian Blackwell took to the road in Australia for two weeks for a series of events and roundtables focusing on the practical steps financial services firms and organisations operating in other high risk industries need to consider.

Roadshow

The roadshow follows the final report on the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. Mr Davison and Mr Blackwell, are both formerly Norton Rose Fulbright risk and compliance specialists. Mr Davison said clients increasingly want their law firms to be holistic services providers as well as trusted legal advisers, “Dentons has responded to what their clients have been asking for. Firms should be able to have their professional services needs met in one place.” Mr Blackwell added, “Risk management applies to all sectors. There has been a lot of noise following the Hayne recommendations in the financial services sector, but many of the themes in the report should resonate with nearly all organisations operating in high risk industries.”

Variety of sectors

Mr Blackwell said, “We’re looking forward to meeting with senior leaders from a variety of sectors to talk about what they can do to reduce risk in their businesses and get ahead of future challenges.” Dentons Australia chair and Australasia ceo, Doug Stipanicev said “We’re really pleased to be able to offer our clients direct access to John and Christian, who will be able to offer invaluable insights. Being part of Dentons means we are able to draw on global expertise for our clients. It’s yet another way our clients in Australia can benefit from working with the world’s largest law firm.”
