Adslogans, which has been working with the marketing and advertising industry since 1990, enables clients, including leading brands and marketing agencies, to review existing straplines, slogans and catchphrases before clearing and launching new campaigns. Lewis Silkin will fully incorporate the Adslogans service into its existing trade mark practice, offering a one-stop-shop for brand owners and agencies seeking to mitigate the risk of legal challenge to new brands and marketing initiatives with Adslogans director, Katherine Jones, joining the law firm as a full employee.
The move comes as the firm continues to expand and diversify its legal and complementary non-legal services to brand owner community and the creative industries. Lewis Silkin partner Dominic Farnsworth commented: 'We work closely with many brand owners and agencies on new product and business launches, re-branding projects and advertising campaigns, and both ourselves and our clients have frequently used Adslogans to augment our trade mark clearance programme. Slogans, in particular, can be a concern for advertisers, with few resources out there to help assess any risk of passing off and other similarly contentious IP issues.' He added: 'It was a logical step for us to combine forces with Adslogans and offer a seamless and value-adding service to clients looking for added peace of mind on branding projects and campaigns. We look forward to working with the Adslogans team to continue to deliver a best-in-class service to brand owners and the creative industries.'
Katherine Jones, director at Adslogans, said of the deal: 'We have worked with Lewis Silkin for many years and look forward to cementing and enhancing that relationship still further, while seizing on the opportunities that our combined strengths and skill-sets will offer to both existing and future clients.'
