Despite disruption on a global scale, business has never been better for the top luxury companies. But with global trade issues just one of the challenges looming, the Luxury Law Summit in New York predicts what the next five years will bring for the sector. Emboldened to re-engineer their businesses to maximise opportunities, 150 leaders in luxury will gather together in New York on 13 November to discuss the fast-changing industry - from the legal implications on sustainability to the changing expectations of consumers and the impact of technology on luxury.

Chanel vs Louis Vuitton

The summit looks at the concerns for luxury legal departments and how they will address the latest risks and regulatory issues facing their businesses.  Chanel’s legal team will join the Louis Vuitton team to assess how the luxury legal sector is developing, key areas of focus for luxury legal departments and how they are responding to common challenges – from digitisation, diversification and collaboration to reputation management and the influence of millennials.

Retail world

The world of retail and the legal challenges facing department stores will be touched upon by Paula Barnes, senior counsel at Macys whilst Ralph Lauren Brand Protection Counsel Derek Morales will share insights from his experiences working with one of the top US luxury brands.

Other issues

Other issues which the Summit will cover include blockchain, robotics, ethics and how global trade wars will impact the sector as well as the aftermath of Brexit in the UK and Europe.  If you would like more information on the New York summit, please contact jasmindersoor@globalcitymedia.com or MariaSunderland@globalcitymedia.com
