Reed Smith makes up five new partners in London

Five London lawyers have made the cut in Reed Smith's 25-strong global partner promotions round.

The firm’s focus on London was slightly weaker than last year, when six lawyers were made up to partner out of a global round of 24. The lawyers who have made the grade this year are finance counsel Elizabeth McGovern, transactional shipping counsel Ioli Tassopoulou, senior corporate associate Oliver Harker, finance associate Simon Hugo, and entertainment and media associate Sachin Premnath. Globally, Reed Smith once again favoured lawyers from its financial services group, which gained twice as many new partners (8) as the next most popular practice group, shipping (4). Munich-based litigation and dispute resolution associate Daja Apetz-Dreie was the only other lawyer from a European office to make partner, with Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai scoring one new partner apiece and the remainder being made up in the United States.
