Jonas Bengtsson is new GC at TeliaSonera AB - telephone company and mobile network operator in Sweden and Finland watcharakun

The dominant telephone company and mobile network operator in Sweden and Finland, TeliaSonera AB, has appointed Jonas Bengtsson as General Counsel upon the resignation of Jan Henrik Ahrnell from the post, The Swedish Wire reports. According to incoming President and CEO Johan Dennelind, Mr Ahrnell will continue in the company as Senior Advisor. Mr Bengtsson joins from Tele2, where he has been since 2007, and boasts more than ten years of experience as General Counsel in the telecommunications sector. He will assume the role at the start of 2014 at the latest.

US global supply chain subsidiary of Con-way Inc., Menlo Worldwide Logistics, has appointed a new Senior Director and Chief Counsel. Susan Santo will lead Menlo’s legal team and be responsible for managing the outside counsel hire, as well as being the legal representative for Menlo on Con-way’s Compliance Committee. Ms Santo has been at Menlo since 2010 when she joined the company as an Associate General Counsel. She will be based in San Francisco at Menlo’s headquarters.

US toy company and producer of infant and child products Kid Brands, Inc. has appointed Jodie Simon Friedman as Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary following the resignation of Marc Goldfarb, who will act as a consultant to the company providing legal services whilst he pursues other avenues, MarketWatch reports. With almost 25 years of corporate legal counsel experience, Ms Friedman has worked in many global corporations, most recently as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at International Flavors & Frangances Inc. 

US biopharmaceutical company Insmed, which focuses on developing inhaled medications for various lung diseases, has appointed Christine Pellizzari as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, reports Who’s Who Legal. Formerly Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Ms Pellizzari has approximately 20 years of experience of leadership at senior level in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry.

The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) has announced the appointment of Caroyln Tanner to the role of General Counsel, replacing Jan Cohen who retired earlier this month, reports Carson Now. Ms Tanner joins from the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, where she was Senior Deputy Attorney General from 2009, and has almost 20 years of experience in the legal industry. She is based in PUCN’s office in Carson City.
